Assistant Inspector

Knowledge of general machining processes and machine capabilities. Knowledge of materials and their characteristics such as aluminum, titanium, steel and plastic. Able to read blueprints, tolerances and symbols. Knowledge of measuring devices including PC-DMIS CMM a plus. Should be well versed in GD&T/ASME Y14.5M-1994 and AS9100 requirements.
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, self motivated, able to work closely with Senior Inspection Manager and exhibit good time management skills. Possess the ability to be accurate and systematic in approach, even when rushed.
Responsible for the quality of all parts shipping to customers, manufacturing practices and common sense. Understands and holds in high priority, the meeting of delivery dates.
Works closely with the Senior Inspection Manager, Shift Managers and Operators to schedule inspection of First Article at each operation, as well as final inspection of parts before they are shipped. Follows inspection procedure. Checks to make sure procedures are being followed, such as signing off each step on the router.
At final inspection, checks the job book for sign offs. Meets with Senior Inspection Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager and Shop Foreman. Ensures that employee inspections are being done as scheduled. Communicates closely with programming to understand requirements of each job and areas of concern.
Is familiar with and uses Quality Assurance Policy and Procedure. Acts as company Quality Assurance Assistant Manager. Assists Senior Inspection Manager in handling monthly material discrepancy and scrap reports. Sits in on company Material Review Board. Works with Senior Inspection Manager on Quality Assurance Policy and Procedure as needed, keeping the manual current and recommending changes to address problems in the system.
Is aware of delivery dates – checks on jobs before leaving at the end of the day, to make sure all immediate needs have been met.
Works with Senior Inspection Manager to verify that customer packaging and wrapping requirements are being implemented by Shipping and Receiving Clerk to ensure delivery of quality parts.
Tools and measuring devices: Organizes tools and oversees the process of check in and out. Assigns tools to jobs, as needed. Keeps inventory of tools, schedules calibrations or submits the tools to the Senior Inspection Manager for calibration.

Vendors: Helps Senior Inspection Manager keep track of delivery and quality on all outside vendors, so performance can be reviewed on a regular basis.

Ability to lift 50lbs. minimum. Must be able to pass a random drug test. Must be a citizen of the USA or a legal resident alien.
