Senior Inspector

Knowledge of general machining processes and machine capabilities. Knowledge of materials and their characteristics such as aluminum, titanium, steel and plastic. Possesses the ability to read blueprints, tolerances and symbols. Knowledge of measuring devices including PC-DMIS CMM with use of models required. Should be versed in GD&T/ASME Y14.5M-1994 and AS9100 requirements.
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, self motivated, and be able to work independently with strong leadership and time management skills. Able to be accurate and systematic in approach, even when rushed.
Responsible for the quality of all parts and paperwork shipping to customers; manufacturing practices and common sense. Understands and holds in high priority, the meeting of delivery dates.
Works closely with shift managers and operators to schedule inspection of first article at each operation, as well as final inspection of parts before they are shipped.
Follows inspection procedure. Checks to make sure procedures are being followed, such as signing off each step on the router.
At final inspection, check the job book to ensure sign offs have been done as required. Meets with Shop Foreman, Manufacturing Manager, and Production Manager to ensure that employee inspections are being done as scheduled. Communicates closely with programming to understand requirements of each job and areas of concern and identifies any special measuring equipment needed.
Is familiar with and uses the Quality Assurance Policy and Procedure. Acts as company Quality Assurance Senior Inspection Manager.
Handles monthly material discrepancy and scrap reports. Sits on the Material Review Board.
Works on Quality Assurance Policy and Procedure as needed, keeping the manual current and recommending changes to address possible problems in the system.
Is aware of, and takes responsibility for delivery dates – checks on jobs before leaving at the end of the day, to make sure all immediate needs have been met.
Recommends packaging and wrapping technique to Shipping and Receiving Clerk to ensure safe delivery of customer parts.
Tools and measuring devices: Organizes tools and the process of checking tools in and out. Assigns tools to jobs as needed. Keeps inventory of tools, schedules calibrations or does them him/her self. Is responsible in ensuring the correct measuring tools are being used in the correct application on the shop floor. Responsible to ensure the correct tools are available for the shop floor.

Monitors Vendors: Keeps track of delivery and quality on all outside vendors, including on-site audits/inspections, so vendor performance can be regularly reviewed.

Manage an employee training and awareness program that supports quality output in the organization, i.e. “Certified Operator Program”, consisting of certificated and audit cycle.

Ability to lift 50lbs. minimum. Must be able to pass a random drug test. Must be a citizen of the USA or a legal resident alien.
