Shipping Receiving Clerk

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of shipping/receiving processes. Knowledge of shipping software such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Shipping & International Shipping
The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, self motivated, able to work closely with shipping manager and exhibits good time management skills. Able to be accurate and systematic in approach, even when rushed.
DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the packaging and shipping of parts leaving the shop for outsource work or delivery to customer through the use of company policy and customer requirements; at the same time, understands and holds in high priority, the meeting of delivery dates. Ensures that parts are packed in a safe manner to avoid damage.
DESCRIPTION DETAIL:
Works closely with Shipping Manager and verifies part counts before they are shipped and as they are received. Follows shipping procedure for each shipment. Checks to make sure procedures are being followed, such as signing off each step on the router. At time of shipment for outsource or delivery, checks the job book to see if sign offs have been done as required. If not, meets with Shipping Manager to verify sign offs that are necessary.
• Ship/Receive outgoing/incoming shipments and compare items to purchase
orders
• Count items to ensure that the correct number have been shipped/received
• Determine storage areas for incoming shipments and allocate appropriate
space within the warehouse for safe keeping.
• Assist in physically moving incoming items to designated storage areas
and supervise storage activities.
• Match purchase order information on delivered materials to ensure
conformity and paperwork is correct
• Operate forklifts to move heavy boxes and transport them to
storage/staging areas
• Ascertain the quality and quantity of materials/tools etc., and ensure that
they are safely delivered to the CNC machine, tool crib or staging area
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks utilizing safety when stacking items
and retrieving items
• Record damaged or defective items/materials according to company
policies
• Handle returns and exchanges by ensuring that reverse distribution
processes are followed properly
• Ascertain that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled
and that correlating documents are available with each shipment
• Select the method of consignment utilizing knowledge of shipping
procedures, routes, and rates
• Arrange for a carrier vehicle or pickup
• Compare the amount and identification numbers of goods against purchase
orders
• Post weight and shipment charges
• Maintain files of shipping records
• Trace missing or lost shipments
• Assemble wood and cardboard containers or pick pre-assembled containers
• Route materials to individual departments
• Attach identifying information and delivery instructions on all
shipments/containers
• Organize records of goods shipped and maintain a clean organized work area.

Able to lift 50lbs minimum. Must be able to pass a random drug test. Must be a citizen of the USA or a legal resident alien.
